This week we will be in Chapter 11 of Ezekiel. This is the final chapter of the pericope related to Ezekiel's prophecy of God's exodus from the Temple in Jerusalem.
Interestingly, Chap 12 introduces a series of chapters (12-19) where Israel basically says... "We don't believe you." This is not just an indictment of Ezekiel but most of the Prophets who preceded him including Isaiah, Amos, and others. Well they are about to become believers...
Two unrelated notes: 1) October 31 is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. On this date in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Chapel at Wickenberg. This would have been equivalent to a "Tweet" today inviting the world to come and discuss the problems with the church and how to fix them. 2) We just voted for the Fire Department tax....Not a big fan of taxes in general but this one is worth it.
See everyone Wednesday Night @ 6:30...First Southern Baptists on West 2nd.
Gob Bless....Be Bold!
